Symsoft Rated Tier 1 Signalling Firewall Vendor by Mobile Network Operators

Stockholm, Sweden, February 13th 2018.

Symsoft, the operator division within CLX Communications AB (publ.) (XSTO:CLX), has become one of the only three providers to be recognised as a ‘Tier 1 Signalling Firewall Vendor’ by the Roaming Consulting Company (ROCCO), it it’s Signalling Firewall Vendor Performance Report 2017.

The annual report is based on the perceptions and experiences of fifty-seven Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). Each MNO scoring the twenty-two Signalling Firewall Vendors across a broad range of KPIs including performance, value and leadership, with only those vendors receiving 4-5 points out of 5 in every single category given Tier 1 rating.

In particular, the MNOs singled out Symsoft’s leadership and attention to detail for particular praise. During the last year, Symsoft has made a significant industry contribution, working with the GSMA to develop a new set of compliance standards covering protection from relevant threats and new types of attack.

The Symsoft Signalling Firewall has been developed specifically to protect mobile operators against signalling attacks over SS7 as well as Diameter by inspecting traffic and tracking sessions in real time. The firewall intelligently filters traffic and blocks specific attacks, with an intuitive GUI for simple configuration of rules and is a key component in Symsoft’s portfolio of telecom software solutions and services, including Firewalls, VAS and Real-Time BSS.

Petter Näslund, VP, Product Management at Symsoft commented, ‘While MNOs might wish they didn’t need Signalling Firewall services, the increasing number of vulnerabilities exposed in signalling networks, means that operators and their subscribers could be exposed to security threats on a global scale.

‘Therefore, we are delighted to be recognised by global MNOs as a Tier 1 Signalling Firewall vendor in the latest ROCCO report. This underlines our commitment to developing a best-in-class security technology and our understanding of the security needs of mobile operators and the importance of providing a high bar of consumer satisfaction with mobile messaging so that the ecosystem has a long-term, sustainable future.”
