STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 20 June 2011 – Symsoft, a trusted expert and supplier of charging and messaging solutions, today announced the delivery of Symsoft SMS Firewall to a major mobile operator in the Middle East.
Symsoft has been awarded a contract in the Middle East for an SMS Firewall, a rule-based system that will enable the operator to finely control which traffic is permitted to be transported through the operator’s network.
Subscribers receiving unsolicited messages and fraud attempts relying on text messages are becoming a key challenge for mobile operators around the world. With its extensive and highly configurable filtering capabilities Symsoft SMS Firewall helps operators protect their subscribers from unwanted messages.
Symsoft SMS Firewall will provide the Middle Eastern operator with a versatile tool to control Application-to-Person (A2P) traffic. By limiting network traffic from external operators without termination agreements, aggregators are incentivized to direct their traffic through the operator’s own SMSC rather than to rely on external networks. This will result in increased operator revenues.
“The Symsoft SMS Firewall contract was won due to our proven track record in the region”, comments Robert Arcon, Managing Director, Symsoft Middle East & Africa.
“The business deal further increases our footprint as a leading provider of advanced messaging solutions. It is a significant proof-point for our ambition to support operators around the world to secure and increase revenues”, says Mr Arcon.
The Symsoft SMS Firewall solution will be in commercial operation during summer.
Symsoft will be present at the Global Messaging and VAS event in London, 22-23 June 2011, and will be happy to discuss how to adapt total cost of ownership with cloud-ready messaging solutions.
