SYMSOFT SIGNS CONTRACT WITH GSM OPERATOR QTEL IN QATAR
December 3, 2007
Qtel, Qatar´s largest telecommunications provider, selects Nobill USSD from Symsoft, supporting a variety of advanced menu based interactive USSD and IN services.
USSD based services, an often unexploited asset in GSM networks, are supported by practically all mobile phones and can instantly be used by all subscribers. Its intuitive menus ensure high popularity among users, easy access to a multitude of services and short payback time for the service provider.
Qtel deploys the Nobill USSD/IN system to create and offer the advanced services Collect Call, Call Me Back and Call Back Roaming. With Collect Call the dialing charges are billed to the called party, which is requested in advance to accept the charges for that call. The Call Me Back service provides the possibility for a Qtel customer to invite the recipient to call him back. Through Call Back Roaming, Qtel prepaid customers can originate calls when they are roaming, while the operator is in full and real-time control over the charges for the call. Qtel will also use the Nobill USSD Gateway for subscriber self management and user access to a multitude of information and entertainment content. It will effectively lower the work load of customer care personnel and improve the service level.
"Symsoft responded very well to our technical and commercial requirements and we are confident that they will deliver according to our very aggressive time table,” said Khalil El Emadi, Executive Director – Networks, Qtel.
"We look forward to demonstrate Symsoft’s technical excellence, flexibility and speed of action and provide Qtel with a solution that enables them to increase their opportunities for profitability and revenue generation. Qtel is a very well respected operator, with a truly regional footprint, and we do hope that this contract will allow Symsoft to be entrusted to deliver to other GSM operators part of the Qtel Group," says Bogdan Sacuiu, General Manager, Symsoft MEA.
