Symsoft was founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1989, to supply charging and messaging solutions to telecom operators, and help them stay competitive in the communications market. Early on, Symsoft managed to break into this market by providing highly robust modular systems with a flexibility unmatched by rival solutions.
Telecom operators were investing heavily in these areas and the first SMS real-time charging solution was purchased by Telia Mobile (now TeliaSonera), enabling them to succesfully launch new services for premium rated SMS.
To keep up with the market trends and reduce time-to-market, Symsoft launched the Symsoft Platform (which all Symsoft applications and products are based on), enabling fast delivery of new functionality to our customers and reuse of functionality between different products.
A major breakthrough was then made in Latin America where Symsoft was awarded three important contracts with the three major mobile operators in the region. The orders contained supply of products within both the charging and the messaging area.
As the success continued, an office in Dubai was opened later that same year, to get closer to our customers in the Middle East and Gulf region, and help them expand their businesses. Facilitated by our presence in the region Symsoft made an important achievement by signing a contract to deliver key elements to STC's prepaid business operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Following the successful expansion in the Middle East, Symsoft opened two more offices; one in Dallas, Texas and another in Singapore. The nearness to the North and South American region, as well as the Asian Pacific region, enabled Symsoft to provide faster technical and sales support to all the customers and explore future business potentials.
